UPDATE TO MEMBERS & PATIENTS

As you are aware, Adam Cormack and I were appointed Joint and Several Voluntary Administrators of the Co-Operative on 7 April 2025.

 

As you are also aware, the Co-operative had ceased providing all services on 7 April 2025. We understand the significant impact the sudden closure of the Co-operative has had on the community, and we have prioritised finding an immediate solution to resume services.

 

We are writing to you to advise that the Administrators have negotiated a licence agreement with a private operator which will allow patient services to resume under licence.

 

The agreement will see trading and clinical operations resume shortly at a date to be communicated to patients by the new operators. If patients wish to have their patient records returned before operations recommence, they can email a request to IHCOPatients@rsm.com.au.

 

The Administrators have been working closely with the new operator since Friday afternoon, when the licence agreement was signed, to complete a handover of the practice. Existing patients will be contacted directly by the operator regarding the return of services, including further details regarding booking appointments, in due course.

 

In the meantime patients can send enquiries to our dedicated hotline and email, and we will ensure these are provided to the new operator.

 

The Administrators have been advised that the new operators will focus on prioritising patients, including those with complex health needs, including alcohol and drug dependencies, mental health concerns and chronic conditions.

 

The licence agreement is an important step forward in providing patients with continuity of care while we seek a permanent buyer for the Medical Practice.

 

We will keep communicating with patients regarding the resumption of operations under the private operator, but we ask for patience as we work to address the large volume of patient enquiries directed to our dedicated hotline and email and undertake a handover.

 

Patient enquiries are important to us. However, due to the volume of emails and telephone calls currently being received, we are unable to respond to each one immediately. We are endeavouring to respond to all enquiries.
